I love chocolate.
I bought this bar of chocolate out of curiosity though it was a little pricey. I had thought of tasting it, but somehow hesitated and decided to reserve it for someone who is meant to have it.
Christmas descended some six weeks after we put up the family Christmas tree that's been with us since 1987.
It came upon the midnight clear that Christmas will never go away and new year will never cease to appear.
The new thing that appeared in my life amidst these festivities was the one who much more than deserves this bar of chocolate.
I asked to sit at the table where she was eating alone. We ate in silence for a while and after some mouthfuls of kwap chap, I introduced myself. She said she was attending the Filipino service at a church nearby, and before long, I discovered that I was sitting in front of the deserving candidate.
How does she qualify?
- She spends her time on her rest day to feed her fellow helpers at a maid hiring agency.
- Instead of going out on some rest days, she saves up her allowance to buy food for her fellow helpers.
- She goes around the condominium where she works to collect newspapers to sell and raise money for the poor back home.
Back home, she still has an undergraduate child whom she supports. In her hands, her "widow's mite" stretches to fund her charity endeavours. The Bible says, "The last shall be the first; and the smallest the greatest". Won't you agree with me that Emely Quinones deserves to be called the Queen of Awesomeness!!?
