It's not a likely fable
That four mad disciples
Should weave those parables.
That four men could conjure up those epistles.
Or that forty men or so who lived through 4,000 years
Should so seamlessly assemble figments of imagination
That all tells in parallel
Towards one gospel.
And surely King James had better things
To do than dream up of translating
These fables into an English version
That is still revered by today's generation.
Life is so short
That we ought not
To spend our lifetime talking about someone else
And doing work that doesn't point to self.
Believe you me!
We would rather expend energy
Writing our own biography
And at lease attain our crown of glory
Before we pass into anonymity.
"For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty." 2 Peter 1:16 KJV
